The Snowflake's Plea

The Snowflake's Plea

I am a snowflake,
A crystal in a kaleidoscope,
Twirling and dancing as I
Waver in the breeze of your indecision.
I fight to stop
Before your sparkling blue eyes,
Hoping you'll watch and remember,
For soon I shall fall to the ground
And join the millions now melting away.

Remember my descending dance
And think of it often,
That my last moment of grace
Might dwell with your memories.

But now, swaying slightly,
I'm suspended here before you,
And you are counting my facets.
Probing.
Examining.
Weighing my value.
In a moment I've vanished,
Borne on the gale force wind
Of your sigh.
