Refuge

Refuge

O graceful weeping willow,
Planted alongside
The rushing river of my life,
Let me sit at your feet
And bide there awhile,
Though I cannot say
How long I'll be.

The breeze of my sigh
May not quite
Stir your branches,
But they bend
To caress me
Nonetheless,
Weaving a shelter
Round about me.

Your slender trunk yields
Where I rest my head,
And peace is mine
While I stay here,
My white water journey
Arrested.
